Below is the installing of an Windows Instock 2.4Hx 3.6W sliding door to an existing brick wall.
Preparation:
Refer to approved Engineering plan, requires 200 PFC steel lintel inside room and 200x100x10 steel angle for outside brick wall lintel.
Protection work: 3 length of 1.8meter 100PFC steel, 8 acrowprops.
Lifting: 1 hand manual forklift.
Other tools: framing gun, drill, screws, bugle screws, angle grinder, hammer

Step 1: Disable electrical and air conditioning service. Setout of the opening from inside. This can be done 2 ways. One is to centre the sliding door, or match the brick course . In this situation home owner chose to centre the sliding door to the room.

Step 2: Install of temporary protection and supporting measures
4 acrowprops supporting the upper floor joist. In this case the floor truss runs parallel to the wall.

Step 3, Steel PFC installed and supported as per engineer plan.
       Temporary Protection can now be removed.

Step 4, For brick wall cut outs. Firstly we need to have the upper bricks supported by 100 steel PFCs, 900mm at 500mm spacing.

Step 5, For the supporting structures, 3 courses of bricks is needed to accommodate the 200x100x10 brick lintel.


Step 6 Re-brick to the top of lintel, use solid packers to avoid sunken mortar, a week is required for mortar cure loadbearing.
Safely start knock out the bricks below the lintel.

Step 7 Installation of sliding door, trimming of the bricks.
In a weeks time to we will go back to remove protection props, patch plaster.
